RESUMO:

Moral harassment is defined as any abusive conduct that attempts, through its repetition or systematization, against the dignity or physical or psychological integrity of a person, threatening his or her job or degrading the work climate. It results from the precariousness in the labor relations, bringing damages to the health of the victim and to the organization as a whole. Common in the private sphere, where competitiveness, productivity and profit prevail, this harassment also occurs within the scope of public administration. The Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte, through the Ombudsman's Office, registered 120 complaints of moral harassment, linked or not to other types of violence at work, from 2012 to 2017. Considering only the occurrences of moral harassment without linking with other forms, the number reached a hundred cases denounced by students, teachers, administrative technicians and external community. Once the problem in the institution has been established, the general objective of the research is to investigate what has been done by UFRN in the face of bullying. Thus, we intend to analyze documents and statistical data, study institutional policies and programs, discuss the impact of actions undertaken, identify challenges in the prevention and resolution of conflicts. Bibliographical and documentary research, both qualitative and quantitative, has an exploratory and descriptive bias. The research is justified not only by the relevance of the subject, but also by the greatness of this federal institution of higher education experienced by almost 50,000 people, among students, technical-administrative servants and effective teachers, as well as substitute professors and visitors. In the investigation, the researcher will interview managers and other responsible for channels of reception of the suspicious demands of moral harassment. The main instruments of data collection will be, therefore, documentary research and interviews. Questionnaires and surveys may be applied to the academic community. In the end, it is hoped to contribute with a broad diagnosis on the issue of bullying in the University, as well as to suggest improvements in the institutional processes that involve this type of conflict.
