RESUMO:

The removal of work due to illness or absenteeism-disease stands out as a relevant public health problem, present in public and private institutions. This study aimed to analyze the work away from the Health Information System in the context of a Federal Institution of Higher Education. It was therefore sought to understand the functioning of the Information System of Health and Safety at Work of the Federal Public Administration - SIAPE SAÚDE and its contribution to the production of information about work leave due to health reasons of the employees of the Federal University of Rio Grande of the North - UFRN. The proposed descriptive study was carried out at the headquarters of the Unit of the Integrated Subsystem of Attention to Health of Federal Public Servant of UFRN (Unit SIASS-UFRN). It is performed in two phases, initially by documentary research to characterize the morbidity of remote servers in the year 2016, through the managerial reports available in the system. In the second phase, with an interview with the health expertise team to know the institutional process of these departures. In the treatment of the data were used the editor software spreadsheets Microsoft Office Excel and the analysis of content. The collection period comprised from January to July, 2017. The results show that there were 992 departures per skill, with emphasis on Mental and Behavioral Disorders (ICD F), among the positions of administrative assistants, nursing assistants and teachers in the teaching profession superior, prevalent in females, in University Hospitals. As for the second phase, the interviewees highlighted as a positive point of SIAPE SAÚDE "its unification for all federal agencies", negative point "to have old database" and suggestion of improvement "the module needs evaluation and updating." We conclude that the system represents an advance for the analysis of departures at the local level, however, it requires more investment from the Federal Public Administration for its improvement.
