RESUMO:

The ostensive mobile round service, developed in the Central Campus of the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte, executed by the guards, has been presented as the main activity in the fight against and coping with acts of violence against people and public patrimony in said academic environment. Because this is an activity that presents safety and ergonomic risks, this study aimed to identify the problems in this relationship, through the Ergonomic Analysis of Work - AET, in order to suggest propositions that solve or mitigate the identified problems. For this purpose, documentary research, semi-structured interviews and participant observation were used as methodology, followed by their respective interpretations. This research ratified the validation of concepts presented by several authors, which helped to understand the aforementioned topic and in the elaboration of the diagnosis. Regarding the results obtained from this research, it was identified the distance between the prescribed work and the actual work, the existence of inadequacies as to the working conditions and that resulted in the presentation of propositions that result in the reduction of the existing safety and ergonomic risks as well how to provide security for these professionals and improvements in the quality of services performed.
