RESUMO:

This work aims to apply the concepts of the Lean Office to analyze the waste in processes in administrative environments of a Federal University. Considering the context of the research and because it is a public institution, a bibliographical review was done on Public Administration, emphasizing the basic principles expressed in the Federal Constitution of 1988 and the managerial model. The topics management of processes and lean production were also reviewed. The qualitative approach and the action-research method were chosen, which were carried out in the Coordination of Agreements and Contracts of the Pro-Rectory of Planning and General Coordination of the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte. This research is a cut of a larger Project that is in execution in the aforesaid Coordination, whose objective is to improve the processes of the course of academic projects. For data collection, it was used: a focus group to identify the perception of value by the client; a workshop about processing, to build the process flows together with the work team; and semi structured observations and interviews, to construct the Value Stream Mapping and to identify wastes. The data processing and their analysis will take place through the content analysis and the Value Stream Mapping. As a final product, it is expected to create an action plan based on the Lean Office model, whose implementation and whose results analysis will be presented in future academic work
