SUMMARY:

This paper explores the importance of welcoming a new member to an institution, which in the context of this research is a public institution and its technical staff. This initial welcome impacts the new employee's organizational
integration and socialization, and how these stages can influence their work life. The initial objective was to analyze the process of joining the institution, examining its encounter with welcome and organizational integration. The theme and conceptualization of the socialization stages were explored, and previous research that has already highlighted the importance of working on this dynamic to help build individual perception and social relationships in the workplace was discussed. The proposed contribution is to propose a welcome manual for new technical staff, providing an institutional tool that helps with the onboarding and welcoming of these new members. The tool will be evaluated by agents involved in welcoming employees to the institution, allowing for its relevance and potential contribution to both the host and the recipient.
