CAREER DECISIONS IN GRADUATION COURSES CONCLUDING STUDENTS IN A FEDERAL UNIVERSITY

The period that comprises the imminence of the academic graduation and leaving of university is seen as a critical moment to elaboration of decision-making processes regarding the subjetcs career. Nowadays, career decisions have become people’s responsibility, whereas in the not too distant past, such responsability was of the organizations, which sustained stable careers for individuals. The relevance of addressing the theme connects to the current lived moment, where new possibilities are consolidating in the labor market. Areas of practice that until recently were not common or did not exist, today are being targets of professional insertion and even the opposite, stable professions become less present or even cease to exist and have the same meaning. In this sense, new careers forms are conceived in the postmodern conjuncture, causing, beyond the tradition formats, UFRN needs to embrace this context. Trought the underdestandings, we will to look how it is established for the students of the institution, the decisions imposed as necessary in the contemporary times during the experience of the final year of the undergraduate courses. This objective will be achieved through the creation of a thematic group entitled “Career Decisions”, idealized by the need that may pervade the life trajectory of the subjects in this research. The methodological construction is established in the design as Action Research, besides making use, for data analysis, of Amedeo Giorgi’s proposal in his empirical-comprehensive model. It is expected with this work, with the participants, to provide elaborations and reflections in te sense of positioning and awareness of decision-making in a posture of appropriation and accountability about their own choices. It is also understood that the effect of creating spaces for attention to the theme and elaborating a collective space will propose a listening to discourses of uncertainty, permeates a possibility of acceptance for the moment of doubt. In addition, the study aims to produce institucional material in the form of a guide of acting with this public, which will be built from the dat form this work.
