RESUMO:

The role of the nursing team in health assistance on hospital context is of supreme importance, given the numerous tasks played by these professionals in the act of caring. When observing the activities developed in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit environment (Neo Intensive Care Unit), it’s possible to perceive the complexity of care actions, for being a sector dedicated to providing complex care directed to those patients with serious health problems. Therefore, nursing is characterized by being a profession which its workers are exposed to numerous occupational hazards (which originate from unhealthy and dangerous activities), which can cause damage to their health. This etude has as focus the analysis of the occupational hazards to which nursing professionals are subjected and their repercussions on well-being, notably to a specific type of worker response, the osteomuscular disorders. It is a study described as descriptive, with a quantitative approaching, whereupon will be used the Work Condition Questionnaire (WCQ) and the Psychosocial Risks at Work Protocol as well (for an analysis of the occupational conditions and risks inherent to the work of the nursing teams) and the Nordic Questionnaire (with the purpose of obtaining information about musculoskeletal complaints from these professionals). It is hoped that the obtained results will provide the institution and the professionals with information that can serve as subsidies for the elaboration of necessary measures to the improvement of the work environment, reflecting in positive form of well-being to the nursing professionals and, consequently, the reduction of remoteness’s, furloughs or function deviation.
