Organizational Commitment of the technical-administrative Servers of the Library System of the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte
Organizational commitment. Public service. Public servers. University library. Public administration.
This study has as subject the organizational commitment, which according to Medeiros (1998) is a set of feelings and actions of the individual related to their organization. It is a field research, exploratory and objective, to analyze the organizational commitment of the technical-administrative Servers that compose the Library System of the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte in relation to this same Institution. To do so, it uses the Three Component Model of Organizational Commitment proposed by Meyer and Allen (1991) validated in Brazil by Siqueira (1995, 2000). As specific goals, it historically characterizes the Library System of UFRN; discusses the historical evolution of the Public Administration and its debureaucratization; describes the models of organizational commitment; and also identifies and analyzes the components of the organizational commitment of SISBI/UFRN technical-administrative servers using the ECOA, ECOC and ECON scales. It is hoped that the results will contribute in theoretical terms for future research, as well as in practical terms, to increase the organizational commitment of the SISBI Technical-Administrative Servers of the University.
