AVALIAÇÃO DA RESPOSTA IMUNE PARA Ascaris lumbricoides EM CRIANÇAS PRÉ-ESCOLARES DE ÁREA TROPICAL.
Ascaris lmbricoides, children, anti-Ascaris antibodies
With the aim of investigating associations between children infected with one or more of the most common geohelminths, intensity of infection with A. lumbricoides and the presence of anti-Ascaris (IgG E IgE) antibodies, blood and stool samples were collected from children from 1 to 10 years of age, living in a poor urban area of Brazil. The study of intestinal infections with helminths was carried out by examining stool samples using the formaldehyde-ether technique and quantifying Ascaris lumbricoides eggs employing the Kato-Katz technique. Serum of infected patients and negative control was selected to determine anti-Ascaris antibodies using indirect ELISA e Enzimoimunofluorimetra.
