DESENVOLVIMENTO DE SISTEMAS MAGNÉTICOS PARA VETORIZAÇÃO DE ANTIBIÓTICOS NO TRATO GASTROINTESTINAL
Magnetite, Polymeric particles, Amoxicillin, Spray drier, Antimicrobial activity
The aim of this work is to develop and evaluate polymeric magnetic particles loaded with the amoxicillin as a potential drug delivery device. The magnetite particles were produced by the co-precipitation method. Therefore, the particles were coated with the Eudragit® S100 and amoxicillin by the spray-drying technique. The physicochemical characterization of the particles was performed by Optical and Scanning Electron Microscopy, X-ray Powder Diffraction, Nitrogen Adsorption/Desorption Isotherms, Vibrating Sample Magnetometry and Drug Release Test. Additionally, the antibacterial activity of the particles was evaluated against Micrococcus luteus. The results suggested that the produced particles have a potential antimicrobial activity and may be considered as an effective antibiotics carrier.
