SUMMARY:

This dissertation proposes a historical-mathematical study, based on the Alliance between History of Mathematics (HM) and Digital Technologies (DT) through the theme of Cryptography, resulting in an Educational Product aimed at High School. Thus, it is linked to the research line Teaching and Learning of Natural Sciences and Mathematics of the PPGECNM-UFRN and seeks to answer the central question: How to relate RSA cryptography, the History of Mathematics, and Digital Technologies, through diversified activities including Escape Rooms, for the teaching of multiples and divisors? From this perspective, the objective of the research is to investigate the use of RSA cryptography, via the Alliance between History of Mathematics and Digital Technologies, in the teaching of multiples and divisors in Basic Education. To this end, a methodological approach is used that is characterized as qualitative research, with bibliographic and documentary procedures, in addition to an application characterized as action research. To clarify, a survey of cryptographic methods was conducted, from Egyptian hieroglyphs, through Polybius, Caesar, Vigenère, and the contributions of Alan Turing, to the RSA system developed at MIT, with the intention of understanding mathematical knowledge and underlying historical contexts. Based on this characterization, an Educational Product was produced, developed on the Genially platform, which seeks to facilitate the understanding of key concepts of prime numbers using the narrative of a digital Escape Room to engage students in the production of associated historical-mathematical knowledge. Furthermore, the experimental procedure will involve the application of the educational product with high school students, allowing for data collection through observations and records that will enable the validation and refinement of the material.
