SUMMARY:

This text presents the theoretical and empirical foundations used in the development of a planetarium show for children, incorporating knowledge from artisanal fishermen of Pipa Beach-RN, about the sky and sea of the region, as well as the results of an initial evaluation of the session. The show adopted an intercultural perspective, which guided the choice of content and sources, aiming to break particularly with the axis of coloniality of knowledge. The understanding of the target audience, children aged 6 and 7, draws on elements of the Sociology of Childhood, paying particular attention to the structuring axes of childhood culture: interactivity, playfulness, fantasy of reality, and reiteration. The methodology in the production of the show used steps proposed by Freitas and collaborators, which suggested conducting two studies prior to writing the script: one with the target audience and another with artisanal fishermen from Pipa. The show, "A journey through the Seas of Pipa," tells a story about a special day for a fishing family in Pipa, when a child decides to accompany her father and grandfather, fishermen, out to sea. It revisits knowledge such as fishes, guiding stars used in fishing, the behavior of tides in relation to the Moon, winds, and marine animals with which the fishermen interact at sea. The show was validated by a panel during the research qualification phase and it was evaluated in an Event with its presentation and an Evaluative Activity with children, involving drawing and conversation with stimulated memory. A digital form was also sent to the children's companions to contribute to the evaluation. In total, 10 children and 7 adults participated. Among the elements that the children brought up, those related to the marine environment stood out, particularly the animals. The parents' evaluations highlighted "learnings from the sky" and "dimensions of the narrative," which reinforced the show's aims related to interculturality and the valuing of family ties. Considerations regarding duration, audios, and the images used for the stars were also noted. The expectation is that this research can contribute to new presentations of the show and new productions, favoring the dissemination of traditional knowledge presented in the show. It is also hoped that its contribution will not be limited to planetariums, but will also be used in other spaces, through the story produced for children.
