SUMMARY:

This research aims to discuss the teaching practices developed in the Mathematics Teacher Education program at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte (UFRN) focused on the education of deaf students in the context of higher education. It is guided by the following question: What practices are developed by professors in the Mathematics teacher education program at UFRN to include deaf students?The study is justified by the need to understand how the principles of inclusive education for deaf individuals are implemented in university teaching practices, considering the Brazilian legal framework and the historical challenges faced by this population in accessing and remaining in higher education. The research is grounded in the theoretical assumptions of inclusive education, engaging with authors such as Freire, Skliar, and Kranz, as well as references that discuss teacher education, linguistic difference, and pedagogical practices in Mathematics teaching.This is a qualitative study with a descriptive-interpretative approach, to be conducted through semi-structured interviews with faculty members of the program and document analysis of institutional regulations and course syllabi. The data will be examined using thematic analysis, as proposed by Bardin. The expected results aim to contribute to expanding the debate on the inclusion of deaf students in higher education and to provide support for improving pedagogical practices and teacher education within the university context.
