Proposition of a training activity for the teaching of astronomy by public school teachers in the city of Sítio Novo/RN.
This work presents the results of a research carried out among the teachers of the 3 public schools of a municipal teaching network in Rio Grande do Norte, with the objective of identifying the main difficulties encountered in the Teaching of Natural Sciences by the 4th and 5th year teachers Elementary School. The data were obtained through the application of a questionnaire with closed and semi-open questions, pointing out the contents proposed by the National Common Curricular Base - BNCC (2017) and asking whether teachers encountered conceptual or methodological difficulties in teaching them. This initial part of the research pointed out that the vast majority of teachers have difficulties in teaching the contents of the Thematic Unit Earth and Universe, an area that comprises the concepts of Astronomy, with the contents of the thematic units Life and Evolution, Matter and Energy, being considered easier. to be addressed. Based on this result, bibliographic research was carried out, which, in addition to converging to the result presented in the survey with teachers, also points out the main causes of the difficulties encountered in the teaching of Sciences, especially in the teaching of Astronomy. Based on the results obtained, a proposal for a training activity in the format of a workshop was developed, as theoretical and methodological support for the teaching of Astronomy contents pointed out by teachers as those in which they have greater difficulties in approaching in the classes of Nature Sciences.
