Ethics Committee, Institutional Processes, Education: Creation of an Ethical Guide with an Educational Set of Best Practices for UFRN
Ethics; Public Servants; Ethical Processes.
This work aims to develop an ethical guide with an educational set of best practices for the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte (UFRN), focused on guiding conduct and managing ethical-administrative processes. The proposal arises from the identification of challenges faced by public servants in understanding regulations, accessing information, and handling ethical procedural flows. The research, methodological, descriptive, exploratory in nature, and with a qualitative-quantitative approach, was carried out at UFRN's central campus and employed instruments such as interviews, literature review, and document analysis. Based on institutional feedback, guidelines were structured for the creation of an accessible and functional educational technology: the institutional ethical guide. The product’s development involved the use of design thinking and included the participation of UFRN's Ethics Committee in content validation. The expected results include promoting a culture of integrity and responsibility, strengthening ethics in institutional practices, reducing ambiguity in conduct, and supporting formative actions such as discussion circles, workshops, and seminars. The guide also provides guidance on reporting and support channels, aligning with the university’s mission and contributing to the improvement of public management with a focus on ethics, transparency, and organizational justice.
