Solid Waste Policy and Social Responsibility: A Diagnosis in a Federal Educational Institution
Environment; Diagnosis; Education; Solid Waste; Social Responsibility.
The solid waste management policies have been a concern for public authorities and entities engaged in socio-environmental responsibility issues. The Brazilian National Solid Waste Policy (PNRS) (Law 12,305, of August 2, 2010) proposes reducing waste generation by promoting sustainable consumption habits and a set of instruments to increase the recycling of waste with economic value and potential for reuse. Considering all these aspects, a question emerged: Is there a contribution to strengthening the solid waste management policy as a federal educational institution in the municipality of Currais Novos? Thus, the importance of a social and corporate perspective is highlighted, in search of answers for this important assessment of the ecological and social impacts of solid waste produced and discarded daily, using the qualitative, bibliographic and field scientific research method, so that, at the end of the results, we can identify the best strategy for institutional contribution to the environment.
