Solid Waste Policy and Social Responsibility: A Diagnosis in a Federal Educational Institution
Environment; Education; Solid Waste
The issue involving solid waste management policies has been a concern for public authorities and entities engaged in socio-environmental responsibility issues. The National Solid Waste Policy (PNRS) (Law 12,305, of August 2, 2010) provides for the reduction of waste generation, with the proposal of practicing sustainable consumption habits and a set of instruments to promote increased recycling of waste that has economic value and can be reused. Considering all these aspects, a question emerged: Is there a contribution to strengthening the solid waste management policy as a federal educational institution in the municipality of Currais Novos? Thus, the importance of a social and corporate perspective is highlighted, in search of answers for this important assessment of the ecological and social impacts of solid waste produced and discarded daily, using the qualitative, bibliographic and field scientific research method, so that, at the end of the results, we can identify the best strategy for institutional contribution to the environment.
