A Look upon the Purchase Process of consumables material in Bioscience Center in STP perspective.
UFRN. Toyota Production System. Business Process Management.
This technical project aimed at analyzing the process of purchases of consumables via price registration system, available in GIS systems (SIPAC) at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte-UFRN. The mapping of this process was done in BioScience Center-CB, one of the academic units of UFRN, in order to show the entire flow, identifying waste and improve it through the principles of the Toyota Production System-STP, in order to improve its efficiency. Upon a descriptive research, based on an adaptation of the research strategy Action-Research, an analysis of the flow was done through the use of literature and specialized tools offered by: Toyota Production System, Lean Process, Business Process Management –BPM, and Business Process Management Notation - BPMN, making it be possible to map, understand and analyze the whole process. After analysis of the stream, it was found that the process in question presents its lead time above than expected. However, it was found that there are several opportunities for impactant on management. With this, it was shown that the STP-based management tools, enable structural improvements as well as taskcontrol, minimizing waste and reducing the lead time of the process
