Volleyball athletes, Body, Self-care, Dance, Sport
At first glance, dance and sport seem to be two completely distinct forms of expression and communication. However, seeking to understand the nuances they share is, in fact, the unfolding of a fascinating universe of countless possibilities. In the quest to establish possible relationships between dance and sport, the objective guiding this study is to understand the influence of dance on volleyball athletes, with a view to identifying the ways in which it contributes to the self-care of these athletes. We then traced a movement through qualitative research, linked to the phenomenological approach based on the thoughts of Merleau-Ponty, using the situated phenomenon research strategy, which investigated 15 volleyball athletes from the male and female teams of the Federal Institute of Science and Technology of Rio Grande do Norte - Natal Central Campus/IFRN-CNAT. After conducting 10 intervention sessions using dance classes, we sought to provide a space where the subjects of the volleyball teams could find a possibility to express their subjectivities. Still seeking to understand the subjects in their entirety, through semi-structured interviews, with a view to achieving the stated objectives.
