This study aims to evaluate the accuracy of the nursing diagnosis Hypothermia in patients with heart disease. This is a methodological study with a quantitative approach, conducted in two stages: Concept analysis by Scoping review and analysis of the accuracy of the clinical indicators of the nursing diagnosis Hypothermia in patients with heart disease. The first step proposes to clarify the concept of hypothermia, its attributes, antecedents, consequent and empirical referentials, based on the model proposed by Walker & Avant (2011), constituted in eight stages. To search the literature, a scoping review was carried out, which allows the use of several types of studies, in order to map the existing literature on a given topic, in the following databases: Cochrane, Lilacs, Scielo, Web of Science, Scopus, Pubmed and Google Scholar, accessed through the Coordination of Improvement of Higher Education Personnel. In addition to the material selected through the databases, articles were used from the personal file of the researcher and obtained from reverse search. The second step was to analyze the accuracy of the clinical indicators of the nursing diagnosis Hypothermia in patients with heart disease and verify the prevalence of this diagnosis in the presence of its clinical indicators based on the Latent Class Analysis method. The data collection will be performed, with the approval of the ethics committee, at the University Hospital Onofre Lopes, located in northeastern Brazil, and will consist of obtaining data by means of an instrument containing socio-demographic information, clinics, and evaluation of the clinical indicators of the nursing diagnosis. Hypothermia through physical examination and information collection in the charts of patients with heart disease admitted to the cardiology unit. Eligibility criteria shall be adopted as follows: age 18 years or over. Patients hospitalized for post-surgical treatment and treatment of therapeutic hypothermia will be excluded. The ethical criteria of the research will be obeyed. The study was submitted to analysis by the Research Ethics Committee of the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte, in compliance with Resolution no. 466/2012 of the National Health Council of the Ministry of Health and obtained a favorable opinion from the CEP under number 2,574,889 and CAAE 85607418.3.0000.5537.
