CAPACITY EVALUATION FOR THE WORK OF NURSING PROFESSIONALS IN AN UNIVERSITY HOSPITAL

The work capacity contains the well-fare on performing work activities and it is related to physical, emotional and mental demands arising from the occupation. The nursing professionals regarding the performance in hospital activities are exposed to compromise their work capacity in reason of the complexity and amount of operations realized in an unhealthy environment both on material and subjective way. With this in mind, this study is about the laborer's health, in particular, the health of the hospital network’s nursing team and have as purpose to evaluate the work capacity of a university hospital’s nursing team. It is about a descriptive, transversal study with quantitative approach. It will be held with the nursing team from University Hospital Onofre Lopes that operate in clinical and surgical hospitalization units. The instruments for the data gathering consists of two surveys being one of them copyrighted with social and professional data and another that is a Brazilian version of the work capacity index. For the data analysis and tabulation, programs such as Microsoft excel 2013 and the Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS) 20.0 will be used. The project will be submitted to the committee on Ethics in Research of Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Norte that is based on the ethical arguments of the Resolution nº 466/2012 from the National Health Council, responsible for regulating the research on humans. The study will contribute directly for the scientific production in the Laborer's health field because it provokes a reflection about the effects the work can cause in the nursing professional’s health inside the hospital, as well as, subsidize the development of actions that aim to improve the well-fare of nursing professionals.
