Productive characteristics of the dairy cattle herd in the state of Rio Grande do Norte

The aim of this study was to characterize the production and constituents of milk from cows raised in the state of Rio Grande do Norte. The work was carried out based on the database made available by the Milk Quality Laboratory, at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte, which contained data on production and the main components of milk, from different properties in the state of Rio Grande do North – RN, from 2010 to 2020. Data were organized into groups according to the location of cities in the RN state. Based on the results of the work, it was possible to identify the main milk producing regions, enabling future interventions to improve the milk production chain in the state of RN.
