Oxidative stress is an imbalance between the production and detoxification of reactive oxygen species, which is associated with the development of human diseases. Aiming at other alternatives of experimental models to mice and cell culture, Caenorhabditis elegans is an excellent model organism for research, which has signaling pathways that are highly conserved to study oxidative stress. In the first chapter, the objective was to evaluate the effect of exposure to milk on the redox profile of Caenorhabditis elegans. 04 duly pasteurized milk returns were used. The standard treatment for all tests was liquid (S basal / M9) with 20% milk. The treatment effect was tested in C. elegans in stage L4, through the tests of body size, pharyngeal beats, progeny quantification, resistance to oxidative stress and quantification of reactive oxygen species (ROS). The milk affected the development, but there was no interference in the number of pharyngeal beats of the animals, nor did it cause changes in the reproduction capacity. The treatment of C elegans with 20% does not seem to increase ROS production and decrease milk under stress conditions. This study contributes to the characterization of the effects of milk exposure on the nematode C. elegans. The second chapter covers the role of the consumer in marketing and increasing the availability of products from A2 milk, which is extremely important to dictate the demand and national distribution of the product. Its objective is to carry out a survey of the knowledge, consumption and market of milk and its derivatives by the population, especially in A2 milk. Online forms through the “Google Forms” platform, with an exploratory and descriptive character, were given to answer responses to knowledge and consumption of A2 milk. The research shows consumer preference and interest about A2 milk, obtaining a key-resource for inserting an increasingly accessible and available product, drawing attention to milk producers for genetic selection of the A2A2 herd of cows.
