RESUMO:

The Bubalino cheese whey, a carbon-rich residue generated by Laticinistas industries, can cause environmental pollution, if they are not treated properly or disposed of in water courses. Nutrient-rich agroindustrial residues have been studied as an alternative promisssora to facilitate the production costs of microalgae. It was intended to evaluate the effects of the use of the Bubalino cheese whey as an alternative means for cultivating the Spirulina Microalga platensis. The experimental design was distributed in four treatments and three repetitions, the treatments consisting of different percentages of Zarrouk solution and Bubalino whey. The control treatment was only Zarrouk solution. By reaching the stationary phase, the crops were harvested, washed and filtered for removal of salts and then lyophilized for subsequent chemical-bromatológicas and physico-chemical analyses. Growth, biomass production, bioactive compounds and lipid profile of biomass. The growth curves were carried out through absorbance data of the cultivation and determination of the dry weight of the biomass. The use of different percentages of the inclusion of the Bubalino cheese whey influenced the increase in growth and production of biomass. For bioactive compounds, there was increased levels of phenolic compounds in relation to the treatment control. The profile of fatty acids presented a higher quantity of unsaturated fatty acids, highlighting the merístico acid. However, it can be concluded that the Bubalino cheese whey has promoted improvements in the quantitative and qualitative values of biomass, and can be used as an alternative source of carbon in the production of microalgae.
