RESUMO:

Advances in research innovate production technologies with emphasis on feeding programs associated with animal health and welfare and as a consequence the obtaining of a final product with quality nutritional values with better proportions of polyunsaturated fatty acids and total tocopherols, which Human health. Animal nutrition has a strong influence, since feed formulations tend to promote the inclusion of foods that can improve the quantity and quality of the animal's performance, influencing the composition of the meat mainly in terms of fatty acids, avoiding side effects such as Allergies and degenerative diseases. Fats are usually present in poultry feed formulations in the form of vegetable oils or blends of vegetable and animal fat and which may come from a variety of sources, including oils from the processing of oilseeds (soybean, sunflower, peanut and linseed, for example). These are used in diets depending on availability and cost, in addition to increasing energy concentration. Canola oil is commonly used in cooking, is rich in two important fatty acids: α-linolenic acid (ALA) and linoleic acid. A-linolenic acid is one of the most important omega-3 acids and has the ability to convert into two other important omega-3 fatty acids: EPA and DHA, while linoleic acid (omega-6 fatty acid) is useful For the treatment of various health conditions, including diabetes. Also rich in vitamin E which is essential for the human body and for animals, because in the case of poultry mainly in laying hens the same aid in the coloring of the egg yolk. Coconut oil is composed of saturated fatty acids (more than 80%, caproic, caprylic, capric, lauric, myristic, palmitic and stearic) and unsaturated fatty acids (oleic and linoleic) and the presence of vitamin E is easily digestible and Absorption, reduces the accumulation of fat in the body. In this way we can see how important is the use of vegetable oils in poultry feed, since these are sources rich in omega 3, 6 and 9, important for human consumption and that helps in the constant levels of cholesterol in the organism, improving the quality Of the product with beneficial consequences on consumer health. The objective of this research was to evaluate the effect of the enrichment of the rations with crude coconut oil and canola oil for European quails in the period from 8 to 42 days of age on their performance (live weight, feed intake, feed gain Weight and feed conversion), carcass yield and lipid profile of meat.
