History Games. Construct 3. Game Development. Educational Games.
This research aims to produce academic knowledge about the development and use of
video games as a teaching resource for history in the classroom of a full-time technical
school, while also contributing to the professional practice of history teachers working in
these school models throughout Brazil. In light of the fields of Public History, Digital
Information and Communication Technologies (DICTs), and the concept of Historical
Consciousness based on Jörn Hüsen, the research also reflects on video games as an
instrument capable of producing narratives about the past. It describes the production and
development process of the video game *Historical Invaders* and its application as a
teaching resource to address the violation of human rights in anti-democratic regimes
with first-year students of the Digital Game Programming (PJD) course at the João da
Matta Cavalcanti de Albuquerque Full-Time Technical Citizen School (ECIT-MME),
located in the municipality of Mamanguape, Paraíba.
