ETHICS AND SOCIAL RELATIONS IN SPORT: A REVIEW STUDY
ethics; social relationships; sport
This work aims to discuss ethics and social relations in the field of sport. As spectators,
we were able to observe, as spectators or practitioners of sports activities, socially
desirable attitudes and behaviors, in which the people involved showed honesty,
respect, commitment to fair play or fair play. On the other hand, we also sometimes see
acts that can be considered cheating and lack of fair play by athletes and other actors in
the sports universe. In other places and in Brazil cases of prejudice, racism occur within
the sport. Athletes seek appreciation, equality of opportunity and remuneration. The
main objective is to review the literature on ethics and social relationships in sports.
Finally, an overview of studies on ethics and social relations in sport is outlined and a
discussion of possible alternatives that can minimize obscurantism in sport is carried
out.
