Analysis Of The Contribution Of Environmental Education For The Conservation Of Dom Nivaldo Park Monte In Natal-Rn
Environmental education. Environmental Perception. Conservation Unit.
The present research deals with the environmental perception of the technicians of the Environmental Education Center of an Urban Park located in Natal-RN and of the students participating in the Environmental Education activities taught by this Center. The objective is to analyze the contribution of Environmental Education to the conservation of the Municipal Natural Park Nivaldo Monte, to verify the challenges faced in the conservation of the park and how these activities are reaching the target public. The methodology used to reach the results was divided into two stages. The first stage included bibliographical research and application of questionnaires that contained subjective questions with the 11 technicians of the Environmental Education Center. In the second part, there were questionnaires containing objective questions and a subjective questionnaire with 3 schools, totaling 94 students who were visiting the study area. From the data processed, the results showed that the activities carried out by the park are reaching a diverse target audience. The technicians' vision is still somewhat generalist and conservative when it comes to environment and environmental education. The challenges faced mostly go through the public power. It was mentioned by them the lack of funds for resolutions of problems such as the operation of the Sewage Station. Regarding the students' perception, it was perceived that they have a good environmental base, but they carry a naturalistic and conservative view about the environment. It is necessary that the Center of Environmental Education deepens some thematic ones so that old a more critical education.
