Livestock, Production, Mapping, Municipalities
The objective of this study was to analyze the changes in livestock production in the municipalities of the Rio Doce river basin - BHRD / RN, from 2005 to 2016. Data from the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE) were used in electronic spreadsheets , in which tables and graphs were prepared. The results showed a decrease in livestock production, generally due to urban growth, the drought period in the region and the decrease of investments by public and private institutions. The western part of the basin stands out for the cattle production of large animals. The central part for the creation of large animals, such as cattle, buffalo and horses, and small animals such as sheep, goats, pigs and birds. The eastern portion of the basin has a smaller number of farmers, with subsistence production.
