SOCIO-ENVIRONMENTAL VULNERABILITY OF THE TWO RIO HYDROGRAPHIC BOWL: METHODOLOGICAL CHOICES FOR THE STUDY OF WATER VEHICULATION DISEASES
census; disease; watersheds; health; risk.
This paper deals with a review of studies in socio-environmental vulnerability, which cover topics such as census, disease, watersheds, health and risk. It is motivated by questions such as the methodological and technical choices that have been used in those studies, produced by Brazilian and foreign authors, differences in the use of methodologies by researchers and the relationship between the products generated and the methodologies used. A total of 303 articles were analysed, from 1999 to 2018, available in the Portal of Periodicals of CAPES. The results show that, regarding the methodological choices, they are descriptive research, with quantitative and qualiquantitative approach; in their design, all are case studies with bibliographical and documentary sources; the techniques of data collection begin with documentary, bibliographic research and operationalize variables for the discussions; the questionnaires and interviews represent 30% of the total; data analysis techniques, descriptive statistics, measures of central tendency, correlation and multivariate analyses, represent about 93% of the studies, using one or more techniques. As for the products, the construction of Geographic Information Systems is the most significant result, in 20 of the 27 works. The construction of indices and indicators are verified in 60% of them.
