QUALITY OF WATERS AND SEDIMENTS OF BODIES OF SURFACE WATER AND NATURAL EXUDATION TO LONG OF THE RIVERS GUAJIRU AND MUDO, THE RIO DOCE/RN WATERSHED
Water quality; Doce River; Hydrochemical diagrams
The Rio Doce Watershed is one of the 14 main watershed of the state of the RN and has suffered over the years intense pressure from human occupation and industrialization in the region. By supplying Natal and its metropolitan region hydraulically, its conservation is of great public interest. Sampling points were established in the upper reaches of the Mudo and Guajiru river sub-basins, where water was collected between July and August 2016, in order to evaluate the quality and to classify them hydrochemically. The software Qualigraf and resolutions 357/2005 and 396/2008 CONAMA and ordinance 2914/2011 of the Ministry of Health were used. The Piper diagram classified as samples predominantly as chlorinated sodic. Stiff and 36 Radial diagrams show groupings of samples related to the spring areas. The samples of the Mudo river were shown to be of an inadequate quality according to normative, being indicated for animal watering. Samples from the Guajiru River presented better quality, indicated for human consumption.
