Aquatic ecosystem, water quality, environmental education, Pureza-RN.
Aquatic ecosystems have undergone significant changes, due to degrading processes because of human activities, compromising water quality. The objective of this work was to evaluate the water quality in a section of the Maxaranguape river's hydrographic basin, from the spring of Pureza (RN), which is used to supply water to the population and also as a tourist attraction. The water samples were collected for analysis of nutrients, metals and microorganisms. The socio-environmental actions included activities with a teaching approach through research and scientific literacy, bringing the participant closer to science and addressing environmental issues, for a responsible citizenship.
