MAIN FINANCIAL INDEXES AND COMPARATIVE PERFORMANCE ANALYSIS OF BRAZILIAN COMPANIES IN THE PUBLIC UTILITY SECTOR
Financial Indicators. Factor Analysis. Performance Evaluation. Utilities Sectors
The present work aims to identify, through Factor Analysis, the most significant financial indicators for evaluating the performance of companies that make up the Brazilian public utility sector, considering the segments of Water and Sanitation, Electricity and Gas, making them if possible, compare the performance of these sectors and identify similarities and differences, based on the Institutional Theory. The research has a quantitative and descriptive character. Fifteen financial indicators will be analyzed, calculated using the financial data available on the websites of the respective organizations, classified into groups of Liquidity, Profitability Ratios, Growth, Asset Structure and Debt Ratios. The time span of the research will be from 2010 to 2020, and the data will be analyzed through the use of Stata Software®, through Exploratory Factor Analysis to identify and extract the factors and Average Tests to compare performance between companies.
