Elaboration of a preceptory plan for nursing residents of a pediatric intensive care unit
Preceptorship; Nursing; Pediatric Intensive Care Units.
he practice of preceptorship, in nursing residency, constitutes an important strategy in the training and qualification of the workforce in the health sector, with the preceptor having a fundamental role in the development of new skills and abilities of residents. To carry out preceptorship, systematized planning is necessary in order to improve the relationship between theory and skills and competencies in the field of professional activity, favoring the formation of a qualified professional. In this context, the objective is to develop a preceptorship plan instrument to guide the necessary actions to be developed by nursing residents of a pediatric intensive care unit. This is a qualitative study, using semi-structured interviews, which was carried out between September 2023 and April 2024, in the pediatric Intensive Care Unit of the Onofre Lopes University Hospital, in Natal, Rio Grande do Norte. The research was carried out with 6 nurses who work as preceptors in the multidisciplinary residency program and respected the ethical principles recommended for research involving human beings. The speeches were transcribed with a priori categorization and data exploration, through content analysis presented by Bardin. Then, the results were interpreted in dialogue with what the authors address on the topic.
