Introduction to the Study of History; institutionalization; Faculty ofPhilosophy; Natal.
The objective of this work was to understand whether the disciplineIntroduction to the Study of History contributed to the institutionalization of History inthe course of the Faculty of Philosophy of Natal, between 1963 and 1968. Based on themethodology of content analysis, and the categories of discipline, institutionalization,and professionalization, if he worked with the programs of that discipline, curricula andlegislation of the time. In the end, the discipline in question, actually as an element ofinstitutionalization, contributes to this process by being not only a space that allowed adifferent type of characterization to training in History for the time, but also with theway in which we can interpret institutionalization beyond the foundation narratives ofcourses.
