PRODUCTION DYNAMICS, EXPORTS AND THE LABOR MARKET IN THE NORTHEAST IN THE PERIOD POST 2002.

This research purpose to analyze the insertion in the external market of the companies of the Northeast Region of Brazil, from a comparative perspective between exporting and non - exporting establishments, evaluating the dynamics of production and formal employment in the region after 2002. International experience shows that a country's performance is linked to its international strengthening, seeking to generate enough revenue to finance its import needs, with the aim of making full use of its productive resources. Thus, during the analyzed period, from 2002 to 2014, Brazil presented a strong growth of its exports contributing with the greatest international dynamics, the Northeastern Region, which is the central object of the study, assumed a prominent role in the period 2003 to 2010 in terms of investments. The Northeast experienced a process of economic recovery with expansion of the labor market and household income, reflecting national sectoral and social policies, that is, of implicit regional policies and actions. Then, in a moment of expansion of economic activity, the purpose of the work is to analyze the importance of foreign trade through Thirlwall Law, in addition to investigating historically and theoretically the debates surrounding the insertion of the Northeast Region in the external market, analyze how the insertion of the external market affected the evolution of the stock of formal jobs, income and occupational profile in the Northeast Region, according to the condition of exports of establishments. The research is characterized as exploratory and descriptive, highlighting the quantitative nature as fundamental to reach the stipulated objectives and data collections were used in important websites and databases such as IBGE, SECEX, RAIS, MIDIC, among others.
