VALIDATION OF DIAGNOSTIC FACTORS AND PROPOSAL OF A NURSING CARE MODEL
FOR INEFFECTIVE SELF-MANAGEMENT OF HEALTH IN PEOPLE WITH CHRONIC CARDIOVASCULAR DISEASES

Objective: To analyze clinical indicators related to the nursing diagnosis Ineffective health self-management
in people with chronic conditions.
Methods: A systematic review of diagnostic accuracy, guided by the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic
Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) and prepared according to the JBI Manual for Evidence Synthesis
recommendations. The last access date in data sources was May 27, 2024. The definition of clinical
indicators was performed by analyzing the observable clues/inferences that represented manifestations of the
phenomenon of interest to nursing, with an inductive and data-based approach.
Results: In the 22 selected studies, the following clinical indicators were found: failure to include treatment
regimen into daily living (36.3%), sedentary lifestyle (31.8%), smoking (27.2%), excessive alcohol consumption
(22.7%), impaired glucose regulation (18.1%), failure to take action that reduces risk factors (13.6%), failure
to attend appointments with health care provider (13.6%), ineffective choices in daily living for meeting health.
