Poetic Interludes: Immersion in the Reisado of Master Tico Barbosa and the Warriors of Master Lúcia Guerreira
Theater and Traditions. Master Lúcia Guerreira. Master Tico Barbosa. Poetic Interludes.
This dissertation proposes a dialogue between theater and the Cariri traditions, based on the "Boi" and "Jaraguá" entremeios of the Reisado São Francisco (Master Tico Barbosa) and the sword battles present in the Guerreiras Santa Lúcia (Master Lúcia Guerreira). To this end, an immersion in the ''terreiros" and memories of the Master was sought through the bodily experiences of the entremeios and battles. These experiences highlighted another approach to scenic composition, in which actors and Masters are protagonists in the composition processes. Sensitized by the ethnographic approach, we sought to generate materials throughout the process of observation, description, experience, and scenic experiment, which underpin this writing. Thus, through studies of the movements and manipulations of the entremeios and battles shared in experiences with Masters Tico Barbosa and Lúcia Guerreira, an experimental performance entitled ''Entremeios Poéticos'' was arrived at.
