Reflections under a STSE perspective in Science Teaching

This study addresses Science teaching through the theme of electric energy production and distribution, contextualized within the reality of the state of Rio Grande do Norte. The investigation is grounded in the STSE approach (Science, Technology, Society, and Environment), articulated with socio-scientific issues, aiming to promote the problematization of real-world situations related to the expansion of renewable energies and their socio-environmental impacts. Methodologically, the proposal is organized based on the Three Pedagogical Moments, structured into the stages of problematization, organization, and application of knowledge. The research seeks to highlight possibilities for building scientific knowledge in a contextualized, critical, and participatory manner, contributing to the education of individuals capable of understanding, analyzing, and intervening in contemporary issues involving science and society. Furthermore, it discusses the potential of this approach for strengthening pedagogical practices that integrate scientific, technological, social, and environmental dimensions into Science teaching.
