FINANCIAL MATHEMATICAL EDUCATION IN BASIC EDUCATION: POSSIBILITIES FOR EMANCIPATIONAL TRAINING
Financial Education; Mathematical Practices; High School; Critical Mathematics Education.
This study aims to characterize school mathematical practices that promote emancipatory financial education for high school students. A qualitative approach is adopted, focusing on understanding social, cultural and psychological phenomena, exploring the complexity of human interactions and valuing the uniqueness of individuals, their beliefs, values and differences. The research was conducted in a public full-time high school, where pedagogical practices related to financial education were observed and analyzed. Preliminary results indicate that the integration of mathematical concepts with everyday financial situations contributes to the development of a critical and autonomous attitude in students regarding finances. It is expected that this study will provide support for the implementation of educational strategies that integrate financial education into the curriculum and promote student emancipation, preparing them to make conscious and responsible decisions in their financial lives.
