Teaching science in non-formal spaces: possibilities of use of the Ponta do Tubarão Estate Sustainable Development Reserve (RDSEPT) for the scientific literacy
Science Teaching, Non-formal teaching spaces, Conservation units
The practice of teaching in non-formal educational environments enables teaching strategies that can promote important learning in the training of students in basic education. In this context, it was decided to characterize the possible contributions of the Ponta do Tubarão State Development Reserve (RDSEPT) for the teaching of science. For this, we will seek to know, through observations and notes in loco, about the infrastructure offered by the non-formal space. A questionnaire with open and closed questions was used as a tool for collecting data to the Science teachers of the Municipality of Macau / RN. The results showed that RDSEPT needs to be better disseminated among teachers in the region, especially those in urban areas and in the Coab district, considering the educational potential of the aforementioned space for use in the teaching and learning process of Sciences. In addition, it is intended to characterize the type of work already developed in the reserve and to contribute through a didactic guide for the use in Science teaching with suggestion of new uses that the studied area can offer, especially with regard to the teaching of sciences in non-formal education spaces.
