Traveling the sertões: Nestor Lima and the territorialization of the sertanejas cities in the work "Municipalities of Rio Grande do Norte"
Territorialization. Nestor Lima. Sertão. Serido. Assu.
It proposes a study on the territorialization process of the Physiographic Zones – Rio Seridó Zone and Rio Assú Zone, based on the work Municipalities of Rio Grande do Norte, authored by Nestor dos Santos Lima. In this sense, we consider the territorialization of these zones as a process of changes in the administrative and ecclesiastical sphere as an agent of change in the process of occupation of these hinterlands. The process of territorialization of these spaces is considered from the work, as the characteristics of the sertões and their singularities are portrayed. The Seridó River Zone is characterized by the documental sources researched by the author, as well as by the use of memories as a historical source. Based on Michel de Certeau (2002), we seek to analyze the historical context of the creation of the Brazilian Historical and Geographical Institute (IHGB) of the Historical and Geographical Institute of Rio Grande do Norte (IHGRN), to understand the intellectual trajectory of the author Nestor Lima and consequently the ideological bases that resulted in his main work on the cities of Rio Grande do Norte. The Rio Assú Zone is portrayed based on the cities that make up the region in order to highlight the fauna, flora and the process of historical change. Methodologically, it starts from the reading and bibliographical review, selection and composition of a picture of the cities and their respective zones, as well as the qualitative analysis of the work, for the understanding of the historical process established by the author, Nestor Lima. It was concluded that the author's writing process resulted from his institutional place as an agent of the state government and that the sertões of Seridó and Assú were described in the historiography in order to highlight the process of territorial changes and that memory appears in the work search source.
