THE PHYSICS THAT MOVES US: THE KINEMATICS OF A "PEDAL"
Physics Teaching, Teaching Sequence, Cycling.
The discipline of science represents a primordial curricular component for elementary education in its final years, so the scientific knowledge destined for this school level is essential for the following years. Considering the great difficulty in students' learning in learning these contents, we are looking for alternatives to facilitate understanding of the concepts of kinematics. In this way, the objective of this work is to make it possible to work the concepts of Physics in a practical and active way, presenting to the Kinematics through a recreational activity based on cycling as a sport modality, which breaks somewhat with the standards of the procedures generally adopted for presentation of the theme, and based on a contextualized approach to local reality. To do so, we organized a didactic sequence that allowed us to develop the theme by linking it in well defined stages. The physics of a pedal allows the student to be the active agent in the construction of knowledge, the protagonist of the examples and activities proposed. Making him experience physics in practice. As a result, we have achieved an improvement in the academic performance of these students. In addition, they had positive impressions about the proposal and stated that it reinforced their learning and interest in the discipline. Facilitating thus, the process of teaching learning.
