Innovation in Tourism Organizations: a proposal for an evaluation model in Tourism innovation - MODITUR

Innovation has stood out as the main differentiating element of organizations that seek to increase their competitiveness and differentiate themselves on the market. Given this, the present thesis entitled Innovation in Tourism Organizations: a proposal for an evaluation model in Tourism innovation - MODITUR, addresses the theme of innovation in tourist organizations that tries to understand how innovation occurs and what are the dimensions necessary to innovate in an organizational environment. The general objective of this study is to propose an innovation model for tourist organizations - MODITUR, having as specific objectives: a) to understand about the existing innovation models in service organizations; b) to characterize the propositional dimensions for innovation in tourism organizations; and c) to propose an innovation model for tourism organizations. As for the methodology, it is an exploratory-descriptive research with a qualitative approach, in accordance with what was foreseen and required by the assessment instrument. As for the results, it made it possible to understand that tourism is a phenomenon that undergoes constant transformations at the organizational level and that innovation needs to be present within tourism organizations taking into account the dimensions provided by the proposed evaluation model. Given the above, it is concluded that the theme of innovation in tourism organizations needs more theoretical propositions with new studies, just as organizations need to invest in innovation in order to be able to compete locally and globally. Therefore, it is believed that the theoretical and empirical proposals of this study will allow reflections for new studies to be successful in studies on innovation in the tourism market.
