SUMMARY:

 

Argumentation is one of the most fascinating ways to express yourself through language. It is from the argumentative action that we begin to be seen and heard more critically. When reflecting on current teaching, we saw that argumentation combined with literacy practices can help build a more motivated, critical and aware of their actions as part of society. Therefore, the present study suggests an intervention proposal, to be applied in classes of the 9th year of Elementary School, with the general objective of verifying how literacy projects, through work with argumentative texts, contribute to the formation of young people. critical citizen and how the social context can influence the development of their reading and writing skillsThe presentation of the proposal comprises a sequence of practical activities that include, among others, objectives, step-by-step execution of the action and dissemination of the final product. To carry out the activities, debates will be developed in order to strengthen the ideas put on the agenda. To promote the work, we used the writings of Bakhtin (2016), Marcuschi (2011), regarding genres; Rojo (2012), Kleiman (1995), Dolz; Schneuwly and Pietro (2004), Koch (2011), with regard to literacy; Perelman and Olbrechts-Tyteca (1958) and Fiorin (2015), on issues related to the construction of discourse and argumentation. The methodology applied in our project is of the action-research type, from the perspective of Thiollent (1985), through an intervention proposal, based on the Literacy project, suggested by Oliveira, Tinoco, and Santos (2014), through a qualitative approach, based on studies by BORTONI-RICARDO (2008). We believe that this proposal can awaken in students the ability to better see and interpret the world around them.
