SUMMARY:

Introduction: Venous ulcer (VU) is a public health problem, due to its prevalence and chronicity, its main cause is Chronic Venous Insufficiency (CVI). It causes a great impact on the subjects' quality of life, leading to absenteeism from work and the need for health care, in addition to high public expenditures. The World Health Organization defines Quality of Life (QoL) as “an individual's perception of their position in life, in the context of the culture and value system in which they live and in relation to their goals, expectations, standards and concerns. ”.Objective: to analyze the correlation between the CCVUQ and SF-36 scales in people with venous ulcers assisted in Primary Health Care in the Municipality of Parnamirim in Rio Grande do Norte. Method: cross-sectional and quantitative study, carried out with 103 people in Parnamirim. The following were used: a structured form of sociodemographic, health and care characterization, Short Form 36 (SF-36), Charing Cross Venous Ulcer Questionnaire (CCVUQ). Results: according to the SF-36, the domains related to physical and functional health were the most compromised. According to the CCVUQ, the domains of social interaction and domestic activities were the most affected. The instruments presented moderate to high internal consistency. The CCVUQ maintained a correlation with the functional aspect, physical aspect and physical health dimension of the SF-36. Conclusion: in general, their quality of life is impaired by aspects related to the injury (odor, pain, dressing, limb deformity). In the CCVUQ, QOL was worse for household activities and better for aesthetics. According to the SF-36, he presented worse QOL for physical and functional aspects and better QOL for mental health.
