RESUMO:

Neuromuscular diseases can lead to muscle weakness in the individual. Several studies point to the need for a reliable instrument that quantifies the motor function of the language. The quantitative evaluation of tongue strength is performed through an instrument that shows the strength value exerted by the subject, called the Iowa Oral Performance Instrument-IOPI. The aim of the study is to assess tongue pressure in individuals with Myasthenia Gravis and to establish the relationship of decreased tongue pressure with loss of swallowing functionality
