SUMMARY:

The general objective of this research is to investigate, within the framework of the relationship between language and law, the points of view and emotions in the discourse genre of denunciation concerning child deaths. The specific objectives are to identify, describe, analyze and interpret how points of view and emotions organize the discursive genre of denunciation. To do so, we analyze how these textual, discursive and enunciative devices contribute to the construction of the argumentative orientation of the denunciations. In view of the alarming number of denunciations made at the specialized police stations, the importance of this genre has been highlighted for linguistic analysis from a textual, discursive and enunciative perspective, since this genre represents the voice of society clamoring for justice. In this sense, the research focuses on cases that have generated commotion within Brazilian society. It is anchored in theoretical approaches that enable the understanding of the corpus, based on different works, such as, for example, in the scope of Textual Linguistics, among them, Koch (2004, 2005, 2012), Marcuschi (2005, 2008, 2012), Rodrigues (2017), among others. We resorted to the Philosophy of Language, with regard to Bakhtin's (2016) study on discourse genres. Furthermore, it was inspired by works that focus on the language/law interface, among which are Rodrigues (2016a, 2016b, 2016c); Lourenço (2013, 2015); Gomes (2014); Cabral (2014, 2016); Pinto, Cabral and Rodrigues (2016) and Medeiros (2016). Likewise, studies by authors who are situated in Discourse Analysis and Enunciation, among them, Rabatel (2013, 2016, 2017, 2021) and in Textual Analysis of Discourses (ATD), with Adam (2011[2008], 2019, 2021, 2022), precursor of ATD; Rodrigues (2021, 2022a, 2022b), Lourenço (2018); Passeggi et al (2010), authors who also adopt, in their work, the procedures of ATD. As far as emotions are concerned, this work is based on one of the notable philosophers of Greek antiquity, thus, subsidizing itself on Aristotle's rhetoric of the passions. It is also based on the assumptions of linguists who focus on argumentation and emotion, Plantin (1995, 2008, 2010, 2011, 2012); Micheli (2008, 2010), as well as on the works of Rodrigues (2010, 2016, 2017, 2021); Rodrigues and Passeggi (2016); Amossy (2020); Emediato (2007); Cabral (2016); Pinto and Marques (2015); Cabral, Marquesi, and Seara (2015); Rocha (2019), and others. The research approach is qualitative, of an interpretativist nature, considering the type of bibliographical research, which follows the inductive method. The initial analysis reveals that the points of view in the speeches are marked by emotions materialized by subjective lexemes, which denote feelings of indignation, fear, anguish, sadness, rejection, anger, as evidenced by the textual, discursive and enunciative devices.
