SUMMARY:

The rise of information and communication technologies (ICTs) has brought about profound transformations in society, significantly impacting daily interactions and institutions at all levels. Contemporary Law plays an essential role in the analysis and regulation of these technologies, ensuring that they respect fundamental rights and are used in an ethical and responsible manner. One of the most impactful aspects of these changes is the transformation of governments and interactions between public bodies and society. The creation of the Open Government initiative highlights the importance of transparency, citizen participation, and accountability in the management of public resources. This approach has direct implications for the Judiciary, which must adapt to the principles of Open Government and SDG 16, promoting access to justice and strengthening democratic institutions. The research aims to investigate the development of the Open Justice movement, derived from Open Government, in Brazil and its relationship with the fulfillment of the goals established by Agenda 2030 and SDG 16. Through a theoretical and constitutional approach, the normative and institutional context of Open Justice in the country is examined. Using primary and secondary sources, the research analyzes the initiatives of the National Council of Justice (CNJ) and their impacts on the Brazilian judicial system. This study is expected to contribute to a deeper understanding of the interaction between Open Justice, Agenda 2030, and SDG 16 in Brazil, highlighting the potential of an open and transparent justice system to promote more inclusive and equitable societies. By exploring the adoption and adaptation of Open Government principles by Brazil, the work seeks to inform future strategies and policies that can optimize the judicial system and promote effective democratization of access to justice.
