SUMMARY:

This research aims to demonstrate the importance of promoting critical thinking, through the insertion of the Constitutional discipline in schools, with a focus on High School in Brazil. This is to improve citizenship, consolidating the constitutional foundation based on human dignity, producing effective enlightenment, with enlightened citizens as supervisors of compliance with rules, institutions and governments that fail to comply with the Federal Constitution. The method is the dialectic, thesis, antithesis and synthesis, from the literature, with the bibliographic production dialoguing with the authors: Kant, Habermas, Frankfurt School, Hanna Arendt and Paulo Freire, having the dissertation argumentation in the logical deductive line, with based on theoretical assumptions, which support the idea of constitutional training in schools. In this sense, the theoretical set produced will also deal with the paradigmatic change of the democratic political scene and the sowing of self-determination by human understanding, favoring participatory democracy in the universe of the public sphere. Constitutional education in schools will be an instrument of citizen emancipation against arbitrariness, inhumanity, exclusion and totalitarianism.
